Careers at the AHO

At the Aboriginal Housing Office (AHO), we’re changing the way we do things to better support our Aboriginal housing providers, our tenants and the Aboriginal community. We are steering a new course that ultimately helps strengthen our Aboriginal community. We actively promote employment opportunities for Aboriginal people, and will do this using a merit-based approach to ensure fairness for all applicants.

Our staff

With both Indigenous and non-Indigenous staff members, the AHO is a culturally diverse organisation.

Our Chief Executive

Jody Broun joined FACS as Chief Executive of the Aboriginal Housing Office in November 2018.

Before joining FACS Jody was Director of NSW and ACT for Australian Red Cross for four and a half years. During this time Jody implemented strategies and delivered a range of programs to strengthen social participation for vulnerable individuals, families and communities.

I chose to work for the AHO because of the mission statement that is adhered to, which is to ensure every Aboriginal person in NSW has equal access to, and choice in, affordable housing and that those properties are clean, safe and habitable.
